Tuesday 16th October – 30th meeting of 2012
We met up today for a very early Christmas Lunch! One of our ladies is going on a long trip to New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and Bangkok, another two are off on a cruise of the Med so as this was the last time, until the new year, that we will all be together, we decided to make it our Christmas lunch.
We met at Costa coffee in Petts Wood, which is a local central point for us all. We had a table booked in a restaurant SeShell so after our coffee and chat we went in. This is a very nice restaurant with a good varied menu. We ordered food and some wine for a toast for ‘Happy Christmas’. We all enjoyed our meals, which I must add was not a traditional Christmas lunch but different dishes, with steak being the most popular.
It was then ‘Secret Santa time’. This is a tradition that we have always done. With a limit of £5 we each buy a present, for no particular person and the only stipulation is that it is funny, silly or useless! Some of the gifts included luminous wooly hat and gloves, bunny girl outfit, garter and nipple tassels, queen ice cream scoop, little top hat, flashing drinking glass, a Pinata to name a few. Of course all had to be demonstrated and modelled! There was much laughter from us and the staff certainly appreciated the comedy!
We had a really great time and it started our Christmas celebrations, albeit 10 weeks away! After our goodbyes we all made our ways home clutching our prized ‘Secret Santa’ presents!
