Tuesday 9th July – 22nd meeting of 2013
Only four of our group met today. I didn’t join the ladies today as I went to a friend’s charity day but I understand they had a very good day.
They met at London Bridge, underground and then DLR to Royal Victoria to visit The Crystal. This is a new interactive exhibition by Siemens and is the first attraction devoted to sustainablity. Entry is free and a very interesting, educational and enjoyable exhibition. All exhibits are interactive with video links and very child friendly. I understand at one display you could build a house and the aim was to be as energy efficient as possible and you were judged and given a rating. In two teams of two the ladies set about building the house and one team got the second best rating much to the annoyance of the other two! All good fun!
I am told they had a good day. A very interesting permanent exhibition although a little unknown at present. This would be a good day out for children.
A good journey home in lovely sunny weather! Maybe summer is here at last!
