Tuesday 7th January first meeting of 2014
Our usual meeting place Charing Cross for us for the start of a brand new year 2014! Only one lady missing today as she was involved in Grandchildren duties!
Straight to our favourite cafe St Martin’s Crypt for coffee and superb duper chat. We exchanged our stories of Christmas and the New Year. Everyone seemed to have had a good time with no major upsets. But unfortunately a few illnesses with the sickness bug affecting some of us.
We then set about the task of planing our meetings for the first few months of the year. Lots of ideas floated about. It is quite amazing that we started our meetings in September 2008 so are now in our sixth year and still have many ideas on walks and places to visit. Just shows what a great town London is with so much to do and see! This also starts my third year of blogging which I must say I enjoy doing and find it good to be able to look back on our visits.
We decided next week to visit the Cheapside Hoard and then filled in our diaries until May and some of the planned visits are Wildlife Photograph Exhibition, War Museum, Wallace Collection, William Morris Museum and some walks from the London Walks book. Of course although dates were fix there will be some changes depending on the weather and numbers but a very good start to the year.
After this we all had different bits to do so we went our separate ways after a lovely morning. I went with a couple of the ladies to Covent Garden to do some shopping. As always London was busy and buzzing!
