Tuesday 2nd December – 38th meeting of 2014
A meeting this week at Charing Cross and underground to South Kensington to go to Victoria and Albert Museum to see the exhibition of Wedding Dresses 1775 – 2014.
We purchased our tickets £12.60 Senior which included donation and booking fee. From here we went to William Morris Tea Room for our coffee and chat before viewing the exhibition.
The exhibition was well laid out and gave the origin of the wedding dress and showed dresses from 1775 until the present day. There were many designs from modern designers including Hartnall, Westwood, Worth, Lacroix to name a few. There were many traditional white dresses but also some coloured designs and a purple dress worn by Dita Von Tesse. In all around 70 dresses and many accessories.
We enjoyed the exhibition and thought the exhibits were very good. A successful morning.
