Tuesday 6th January – First meeting of 2015
Twelfth night seemed an adapt day to start our meetings again for 2015. With all the Christmas and New Year celebrations over and decorations put away and most of the celebration food eaten, although of course some chocolates still hanging about we meet at Charing Cross for our A.G.M. and straight over to St Martin’s Crypt Cafe.
Just seven of us as sickness unfortunately had taken its toll on a couple of us. A cold and damp day so a lovely hot drink and something nice to eat was a welcome sight. Lots of chatting and catching up with stories of our events over Christmas.
First business on the agenda was a holiday that we have been planning. So dairies out and sorting out a convenient week for everyone. That sorted out we then started on filling our diaries with our planned venues until Easter. This is quite a noisy event. We all have lots of ideas which is quite amazing as we have been meeting since September 2008 and can still find lots of things to do in London. As it is winter we have planned more indoor events so will visit Museums, a tour of BBC, a walk of the Underground, a walk from our London Book and a lunch.
A good morning as we filled in all the weeks until Easter although this is always open to change! We came out of St Martin’s with the idea of walking around St James’ park but it was pouring down with rain so we went straight of Charing Cross and our trains home.
A successful morning and everyone was so pleased to meet up again. A great start to 2015!
