Tuesday 6th September – 31st meeting of 2016
My title today shows that we have many little A.G.M.s during the course of the year but September is always our big one! The Real A.G.M.!!
After our Summer break we met for a breakfast meeting at The Greyhound pub in Bromley. This is our favourite venue for this big meeting!
All nine of us arrived on a lovely hot sunny morning. After much chatting we ordered and then enjoyed a lovely traditional English breakfast and cup of tea or coffee. Lots of things to catch up on holidays, between us we had covered many miles of the globe. Always great to hear all the news from us all on families and how the grandchildren are doing. Television always comes in the conversation and return of Poldark and Strictly pleased us all!
After this we got down to planning our weeks until Christmas. At this point there were lots of leaflets and info being passed around. It always amazes me how much there is to see and do in this capital of ours! We sorted out our weekly visits and will include some walks, return visits to some museums we haven’t visited in a long time but are well worth another visit, new exhibitions and tours.
After this we also got onto the subject of Christmas. We booked our Christmas lunch which is always very enjoyable and great fun. One of our ladies will be celebrating a special birthday later in the year so we of course have organised a birthday lunch!
After all that chatting we needed another tea and after drinking that we left and of course being in Bromley we took advantage of doing some shopping on a hot sunny summer’s day! Great to be back to our Tuesdays!
