Tuesday 10th January – First meeting of 2017
After our break for Christmas and New Year all nine of our group met today for a breakfast meeting to plan our outings for the coming weeks until Easter.
We choose The Greyhound Pub in Bromley as it is easy for us all to get there and with all the strikes taking place on the trains it really made sense. Another reason could be that this pub is a Wetherspoons and they serve a lovely traditional English breakfast and cup of tea for £4.30p! Not to be missed as it is really tasty.
Once fed and watered we got down to busy. We all gave our suggestions and surprisingly we had such a long list that once we started filling in the weeks we found that we had too many so the list will carry on into the summer. Good work from us all! We have just two walks planned as the weather is cold, some museums visits, a few exhibitions (two of which will be at our trusty V & A), a birthday meal for one of our ladies who has a special birthday and hopefully finishing with an afternoon tea!
A very good productive morning which we all enjoyed. It was nice to hear all the news of the goings-on during the holiday period. Next week we hope to visit the Wildlife Photographic Exhibition at the Natural History Museum but it will all depend on the trains situation.
