Monday 29th June – Friday 3rd July – 22nd meeting of 2015
This week was our extended Tuesday outing. A holiday with husbands which has become an annual event. In total we were 15 and we joined a local coach company Jay and Kay for a trip to Somerset.
Local pick ups for us all and then a lovely coach trip in sunshine to Warner’s Hotel at Cricket St Thomas. This is a lovely manor house which is where ‘To The Manor Born’ was filmed and also was Mr. Blobby’s house in the Noel Edmonds television show.
Our trips included an excursion to Sherborne where we visited Sherborne Abbey and browsed around the charming town. Our day excursion took us to Wells the smallest City in England. We went into the beautiful cathedral and then a visit to Clarks Village at Street. Needless to say us ladies managed to purchased a few items! Our half day excursion took us to West Bay a seaside town with a large harbour and the main attraction is that it was where Broadchurch was filmed. We walked along the sea front and took photos of the beach which had been in the television series. I couldn’t let a chance like that go by! Unfortunately David Tennant wasn’t any where in sight!
There was very good entertainment at the hotel at night which we made good use of. Fabulous food followed by an evening’s entertainment what more could we ask for!
A great holiday with a great crowd of people. We all enjoyed it including the husbands! Everyone had a good time and we are hoping to plan another trip for 2016!
